Sunda River North Chicago Reviews
Food was amazing & so was the service. First time in Chicago. Food did not disappoint.
I’d heard good things about Sunda so we figured it would be a great spot to go before a show in the Loop. Turns out Sunda was everything we could’ve wanted and more. All of the food was spectacular. The crispy rice as a starter set the tone, and you can mix and match the wagyu and spicy tuna. I was partial to the spicy tuna but my girlfriend loved the wagyu. For mains, we both went with some rice. She went with a standard chicken fried rice that they were easily able to make Celiac friendly. I believe she went so far as to say that it was the best fried rice she’s ever had. For me, I had the crazy rice. I like a little spice in my diet, and the crazy rice delivered. I’d definitely get it again.
Sunda is easily one of my favorite restaurants in Chicago. Amazing food and vibes, and Lee is the best!
Staff couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. Went out of their way to find us a suitable table. The food was gorgeous and the cocktails nice and strong. Great ambience too. We loved loved loved this evening!
Lee was literally the best. We come here all the time and will keep coming back.
Fantastic experience from start to finish! We stepped into the restaurant to amazing aromas and a beautiful ambiance and were greeted by a friendly host and seated almost immediately. We had made a reservation using Open Table, which was also a very pleasant experience! Next, ou servers Le and Ethan were promt, attentive, and very friendly! Their service throughout the meal was exceptional. The food was superb! The menu is fantastic, and we enjoyed the Dim Sum Korean fried chicken - soooo amazingly good! Next we had the Beef Lemomgrass Lollipops, also amazing. Our entree was a superbly prepared, mouth-watering Inasal Chicken. Unbelievably succulent juicy, and flavorful. I would travel to Chicago just to dine at Sunda New Asian in Chicago. It was that good! One last shout out to Le and Ethan for the amazing and friendly service! 5 stars for sure!
Absolutely recommend!! Their food was spectacular, my grandma and I visited for the first time and were blown away. To start us off we enjoyed the dim sum with Korean fried chicken and the beef lollipops. Our personal favorite was the dim sum. We shared the Chicken Inasal and were very impressed. Huge thanks to the wonderful staff that took very attentive care of us tonight specifically Lee and Ethan (Yoshi). They really made the experience special for us and could not give them enough compliments. If we ever come back to Chicago we will be definently back!!
Lee is the most incredible host. Incredible vibes and service. Would come here over and over again. Cant recommend enough. 10000000/10
Hotel recommended this place... GREAT recommendation. The oxtail dumplings and Brussels spouses were an easy 10 out of 10. Service was equally great.
The service was awesome! Our server Martin was positive and helped us out when needed. The food was really good too! They had different varieties of food which were amazing and the desserts were just as good. The music isn’t too loud so you can hear the people around you. Overall this place is awesome for the food and just to hang out with family or friends!
Chef Rene really looked out for us, and our server Carley was flawless. The food was beyond exceptional. An elevated dining experience, but approachable thanks to the helpful staff.
