Business Traveller spotlights Sunda New Asian’s Filipino American History Month specials, a seasonal menu inspired by founder Billy Dec’s travels through the Philippines and his documentary Food Roots.
The feature highlights three Filipino-inspired dishes on the menu this October:
Kaldereta Pot Pie: braised oxtail stew with roasted vegetables and bone marrow
Sweet Potato Pinakbet: a Filipino vegetable stew built around Japanese sweet potato
Taho-Inspired Dessert: ice cream with ube, pandan pearls and turon
The story also introduces the team behind the menu, Executive Chef Mike Morales and Head Sushi Chef Ise Masanobu, and Sunda’s newest restaurant on Detroit’s Columbia Street.
